FRICTION FIRE WORKSHOP

Practice the art of primitive fire making and take home a functioning bow drill kit! We will focus on the anatomy of fire (tinder bundle, kindling species, etc), other fire making tools (magnesium rods, flint and steel) as well as look at other primitive fire making tools. Students will learn how to craft a fire in even the most harsh survival conditions.

Weave a beautiful hat out of bullrushes while discussing harvesting, storing, and preparation of weaving materials. This surprisingly strong and durable material makes for a hat that is breathable, insulating, and lightweight.

A weekend of rambling through forests and along beaches as we explore a wide variety of ways to take our observations of the world around us and bring them to the page (and through that- deeper into our hearts and minds).

OLYMPIC PENINSULA TRACKING IMMERSION — APEX PREDATOR
October 2024 through May 2025, meeting monthly (except for January)

The Olympic Peninsula tracking immersion involves 7 weekends over 8 months of intense concentrated skills, utilizing one of the largest cougar projects in the world as our curriculum’s cornerstone! Our highly trained staff will take you on monthly adventures through many amazing ecosystems in and around the Olympic mountains. Participants will receive hands-on training covering all of the fundamentals of wildlife tracking.
